Thing #2: Mobile device tips and tricks
It seems there's always another shortcut, tip or trick to learn with iPhones or iPads.
After visiting http://www.apple.com/iphone-4s/tips/ I discovered some tips that I'll likely use a lot:
1) The camera is available by swiping up from the bottom of the screen--on all screens, not just from the lock screen. This is great to know. Also, that screen allows easy access to the timer, flashlight, and calculator--other tools I use a lot. Good to know!
2) When you tap on a word, scrolling to the right of the box that pops up allows you to do more than cut/copy/paste. You can also define the word or add italics, underline, or bold.
3) Pinching in on the weather app lets me see all my weather sites. That can be a good or bad thing, when it's -10 in St. Paul and 70 somewhere else!
4) 3D and satellite view in maps lets me see some of the beaches I hope to visit this summer.

My goal for 23 Mobile Things is be more deliberate about exploring apps and integrating them into my work.
